SAP releases a new support package every month and for Focused Build<\/a> it was time again in June 2020 with SP6. It is good to know in advance that this can only be combined with Solution Manager 7.2 SP11. After successful installation, the following new features will be available in the Focused Build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting started<\/strong>help<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

First of all, the package contains various functions that are intended to simplify getting started with Focused Build (e.g. new automated setup steps in SOLMAN_SETUP) and the components it contains (e.g. wizard for project creation, simplified creation of requirements, test data and defects, in-app help and the readiness check upload for S4HANA). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performance<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The search for requirements, test plan history and the execution of mass processing has become easier and faster from a performance point of view thanks to the introduction of new search fields. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Functional<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

New functions include the dropDocs integration in the project and the familiar where-used list for test cases with navigation function. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stabilization<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Various consistency checks when changing the status of defects, work packages and work items have been revised and are now less error-prone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

User friendliness<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The loop on this package offers new effort mapping within a wave in the Solution Readiness Dashboard with the new tab “Effort” and the bar charts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conclusion<\/strong>: While the Solution Manager Test Suite has been expanded and corrected in both the “User Experience” and “Automation” strands, the Focused Build Test Suite has also seen improvements and innovations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is therefore clear that SAP is investing the most resources in the area of testing<\/a> for this support package, which explains the comparatively high number of new features and improvements compared to other areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It remains to be seen whether this trend will continue. In projects where testing activities are cut first due to a lack of time (instead of functionalities), it is a relief to know that stable and mature testing tools can at least be used to compensate for this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
